Sherry is known as "The Country Colorist" and designs her own brand of both mineral hair color and make-up. In addition to locally made lines, she also carries only the best American Owned perm, straigntening, and color lines.
In 1996, Sherry answered a higher calling to open a studio in Clarkson, NY. The studio was named "the Golden Chair" because with an extremely low budget it was the first peice of used equipment purchased and the studio was literally built around it bit by bit. Of course the chair was vintage 1970's and was a very bright golden yellow in color and really stood out. Shortly, the chair's color wasn't the only color standing out from the studio. Despite the studio's humble beginnings word of the great hair color and cut services coming out of it spread throughout the neighborhood quickly. With special techniques combining minerals, proteins, conditioners, and professional hair color came Sherry's unique recipes, treatments, and formula's that produce amazingly natural looking and healthy feeling hair color. "The Country Colorist" had found her niche. Soon, after designing cuts that would enhance the shape of each individuals face her cutting and coloring went together like peanutbutter and jelly. Add to it a positive, uplifting environment and a willing spirit it became a place where both Christians and Non-Christians could find a peacefull refuge while getting their hair services done. Five years later, the salon grew to servicing over 250 families through word of mouth. In 2001, the salon studio was expanded to a two chair salon. Five years later, it was time to expand again. In 2006, the salon was moved just 10 minutes away to Hamlin, NY. The salon now sits on over 80 acres with plenty of space for future expansion. The salon is currently housed in an 800 sq. ft. space with a reception and waiting room area, four hair chairs, full waxing facilities, a nail & pedicure station, make-up station, facial, message table, and ladies changing room. In the next five years, if we are still here and God wills it, we hope to begin renovations on a much larger building that will be the future home of our Salon and Spa.
Sherry's goal is to create a work environment in which others are encouraged, taught, trained, and empowered by example to serve our clients and our community to the best of our ability in a personal, private, and professional manner.
